Which parenting style is considered best and why?
In recent years we have seen the emergence of new parenting styles including: Helicopter Parenting, Snowplow Parenting, Tiger Moms and Free Range Parenting. What is the definition and characteristics of each of these parenting styles. What are the impacts of each of these parenting styles on a child's development (both positive and negative)? What is meant by "learned helplessness" in children and how does it relate to parenting styles?
