The development of Play Skills in children affects all areas of their development. Children benefit from being allowed to engage in unstructured free play that encourages creativity. Describe the importance of Play on a child's overall development. How do play and skills learned in play affect each area of development (language, cognition, psychosocial, motor, adaptive, social skills and sensory). What would you tell a parent about the importance of play and how it is a child's "occupation"?
