What is an excellent way to explain this topic? Communication skills, plans, and a team method must be open and mutual between all parties. I have not been involved in a project where virtual communication was used solely to communicate with team members in different locations. I have used email or in-person contact, and they have successfully translated the job details. Some challenges in all forms of communication are correctly understanding tasks and having accurate and readable documentation.
To have a good communication plan in place, the team has to communicate with each other, have good interaction, and have question-and-answer time to ensure everyone is on the same page. Having a scheduling time when the team can come together is essential; using different forms of communication in place (i.e., email, phone calls, skype, and text messaging) to bring a clear and understood resource to communicate? In some cases, teams are in different locations and time zones and have language barriers that must be addressed.
