What happens when shy children grow up

Problem:

What notes can I make using this paragraph? What happens when shy children grow up? Are they still bashful, or do they become the life of the party? Are they socially disadvantaged, or do they make up for their early reticence? To find out, researchers have followed shy children from childhood into adulthood. In one study, children whose behavior was rated by examiners as shy. fearful, and inhibited when they were 3 years old were shy and cautious as adults (Caspi, Harrington, et al., 2003). They preferred safe activities over dangerous ones, were cautious rather than impulsive, enjoyed submissive rather than leadership roles, and had little desire to influence others. In another study, children were rated by their elementary school teachers on a scale that ranged from very shy (acutely uncom- fortable, feeling panic in social situations) to outgoing (enjoy meeting new people) (Caspi et al., 1988). The very shy children were so emotionally inhibited that other people reported feeling strained and awkward in their company. They were less friendly, less sociable, more reserved, and more withdrawn than other children. Their teachers viewed them as followers rather than leaders. When the researchers tracked down the children and interviewed them 20 to 30 years later, the boys who had been rated as shy in childhood had delayed marrying, having children, and establishing stable careers. They held less-prestigious jobs than their outgoing peers. These men did indeed appear to have? Need Assignment Help?
