Problem
It appears that the protein is toxic to the growing bacteria, so you cannot grow enough bacteria to express sufficient amounts of the protein. Your supervisor is very stressed, but you tell him there is a way to solve the problem, although it would require re-cloning the insert in another type of bacterial expression vector. What feature would your new vector have to solve the problem, and how would that work?
