Problem
Select a popular film that focuses on interpersonal relationships. The film should be rich in character dialogue and dynamics in order to support your arguments. Here are the film databases provided by NOVA Library. Please use your VCCS email and password if prompted for login credentials.

D. Introductory Paragraph- Briefly state and describe the film you have chosen and specifically the relationship(s) in the film that you will be analyzing. Preview the main points of the paper (which concepts you will be using to analyze the film) and the role that communication generally played in the success or failure of this relationship.
E. Perception Application- First, analyze the characters frame of reference. What factors influenced the character's attribution of meaning? Did any of the characters display attribution error, self-serving bias, or other perception missteps? Did the character's perception help or hinder their communication and/or relationship development? Provide a transitional phrase to your next paragraph.
F. Verbal Communication Application- Next, analyze the characters dialogue. Did the characters use effective or ineffective verbal communication? Identify at least one effective usage of verbal communication and identify at least one ineffective usage of verbal communication by the characters. Overall, did the characters dialogue help or hinder the relationship development? Provide a transitional phrase to your next paragraph.
G. Emotions Application- Thirdly, analyze the characters emotional intelligence. Did they use appropriate verbal and nonverbal communication to express emotions and solve dialogical challenges? Why or why not? Overall, did the characters emotional intelligence help or hinder the communication and relationship development. Provide a transitional phrase to your final paragraph.
H. Concluding Paragraph- Finally, briefly summarize the main points of your paper. What was the fate the relationship and characters you analyzed? Learning from this relationship, provide a brief plan or tips on how to improve these concepts in interpersonal relationships.
