Training and development can be a challenge in domestic and international settings. When working with employees abroad, the training programs become that much more of a challenge for both the home and host country.
Consider this:
o If you were sending three senior engineers to live in Asia for 16 months, what training is necessary pre-departure, during the assignment, and upon return?
o Who should be responsible for following up to ensure these expats are receiving the necessary training and development to meet expected performance standards and ensure success of their assignments?
o What elements are important to include in the design of a training and development module for expatriates?
o What training and development tools can be introduced to enhance the duration of the expatriates assignment?
