Based on what you have seen in your experience and what you have read so far, how would YOU define a successful project? What do you think contributes to a project being unsuccessful? And, when you read about HUGE failures, do you believe they are, in fact, failures? Provide examples and explain your answers.

1) Provide examples that demonstrate your answer and understanding of the concept.
2) Always include credible sources to support initial posts and replies to peers.
3) Peer engagement is very important, so the more you engage beyond the minimum requirements, the greater chances of higher scores.
Based on the readings and my experience a successful project is one that came out with the exact outcome of what the vision was for the project, while also being on budget and on time. I believe that bad leadership is what can lead to an unsuccessful project. Leadership is the person providing the direction and keeping everyone on track and on task with what needs to be done and in what time frame. If that is miss managed it would lead to an unsuccessful project in many different ways. As stated in this weeks readings "the project manager as a leader can inspire the project team to find a solution to overcome perceived obstacles to get the work done". In my opinion, as long as no one is dying or hurt no failure is actually a failure. Failures are simply jumping points for re-direction, I believe this in my personal life and my professional life. For example "Bill Gates was a Harvard dropout. He co-owned a business called Traf-O-Data, which was a true failure. However, skill and a passion for computer programming turned this failure into the pioneer of famous software company Microsoft, and the then 31-year-old into the world's youngest self-made billionaire."
