A 36 year old male patient present to your laboratory collection clinic for pathology testing of LFT,UEC,,FBE,PSA and iron. he has very difficult veins on borh arms, you feel nothing in left cubital fossa but you manage to feel the basilic vein deep within the right cubital fossa.you prepare for your venepuncture according to organizational protocol and insert the needle quite deep to reach the vein.once inside, you immidiately notice purple discoloration on the skin which is spreading quite rapidly, as tou take out the needle bright red blood spurts out.
