Assignment task: Conduct an interview with someone close to you that has had multiple years of work and life experiences (parents, grandparents, untles, aunt, family friends, etc). The focus of this interview will be social class. It is recommended to interview a person who has had many years of working full-time and that they feel comfortable being interviewed. (please use my personal experience the only person i have socialized with for over 4 years was my science teacher because my mom and dad died and I have no family.)
Ask the following questions:
1. What challenges have you experienced living in your social class?
2. What have been some positive experiences that you have had living in this social class?
3. What is your opinion about people living in social classes below or above your status?
Include the following:
- Identify the person selected for interview (parent, family friend, aunt, etc.). Discuss what social class this person classifies himself/herself as. Make sure the interviewee has a clear understanding of the meaning of social class.
- Includes complete answers to the questions above with examples
- A conclusion that expresses your thoughts about social classes in relation to the reading material. This is separate from the interview questions and responses
