What causes the endangerment of a childs development

Problem: I need a response to this discussion question reply including the reference and intext citation and including a question:

Hello, Professor and classmates

The abuse of a child is defined as an act that fails to or causes the endangerment of a child's development through physical or emotional abuse or neglect (Hirschy & Wilkinson, 2009). Being able to recognize and identify the signs of abuse and neglect is paramount as it can save the child from further physical and psychological harm and also bring justice to the perpetrators. However, being able to distinguish abuse and neglect from genuine accidents that are typical of children is just as important as not to harm an innocent family with unsubstantiated accusations. All children are vulnerable to abuse, however, those below the age of eight years old are the most at risk because they are less likely to report or defend themselves. 16% of all child abuse is physical abuse and is defined as any injury that causes or inflicts physical harm. Infants that are not crawling or rolling yet, should cause alarm, but children of color have been known to have Mongolian spots, which is an innocuous congenital condition, which may resemble bruising. However, the location of bruising that is not typical of child's play should be investigated, like on the neck, back, or upper legs. Brusing that seems to be in different stages of healing can also be a sign of physical abuse. (Hirschy & Wilkinson, 2009). Need Assignment Help?
