Assignment task: The Catholic church has teachings on justice and peace that address global challenges, such as economic and social development, conflict resolution, democracy, human rights, and inter-religious dialogue. The church is involved in nuclear disarmament, environmental stewardship, and diplomacy (Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs, 2022). I find the involvement of nuclear disarmament surprising because until I read about it today, I had no idea that many religious groups are attempting to move towards a world without nuclear weapons. However, it makes sense for churches to participate and protest in these matters because a world without nuclear weapons can remove a considerable threat against mankind. As well as possibly bring more peace among the nations worldwide.
