Problem: The most surprising finding was the belief that the Pope is infallible on matters of faith that are of the greatest importance to the church. The Pope is as human as any other person on earth capable of making mistakes. I believe that no one is perfect. This is very surprising to me. In a way, the Pope is the official God's representative on earth. The Catholics believe that the church is the mediator for God's grace. The traditional teachings of the Catholic Church are held at the same level as the Holy Bible. This is another surprise because the Bible contains God's inerrant messages. The writings of the fathers, priests, and other leaders of the church I believe contain errors because they were written by humans and should not be treated as authoritative sources as the Holy Bible (Hemeyer, 2016).
