Problem:
Contrary to popular belief, most elderly persons with disabilities are cared for in their homes by family members rather than in hospitals and nursing homes. These unpaid family caregivers make a significant contribution to our nation's economic security. What can policymakers do to support family caregivers and increase the likelihood that they continue to meet the needs of our aging U.S. population?
