What arguments can she make that might persuade the court

Problem

Miranda is quite wealthy, in love with Mel, and wants to marry him. Mel is a musician, has no money and does not earn very much. He is reluctant to marry because of the differences in wealth; however, he finally agrees. During the marriage, Mel stops working and lies around all the time watching soap operas on TV. He also drinks and physically abuses Miranda. Miranda continues to work and brings in all the family income; she also has to look after the house as Mel feels that is "women's work." After six months, Miranda has had enough and ends the marriage, Mel is now asking to have the family property divided into equal shares.

Miranda objects the equal division. What arguments can she make that might persuade the court not to make an equal division?
