Problem
A. Reflect broadly on your own heritage and ancestry. This can include, but does not need to include, your biological ancestry. Consider your household, neighborhood, city, state, and country. Also consider the cultural, philosophical, and/or religious groups to which you belong. Also, consider any other clubs, traditions, or identities that are part of your own story.
B. Choose one artifact that represents any part of your own heritage. This can be a song, piece of art, poem, dance, or any item that represents any part of your heritage in any way. Briefly introduce us to the item. Share a photo if you like.
C. Use the "Observe, Think, Feel, Wonder" format to share this item with us (explained below).
Observe: List 5-10 observations about the item.
Think: What are your intellectual thoughts about the item? (write a paragraph of 5-7 sentences)
Feel: What are your emotional reactions or connections to the item (write a paragraph of 5-7 sentences)
Wonder: What further musings or questions are prompted by the item and/or your observations? (write a paragraph of 5-7 sentences)
D. Answer: In what way does this item represent both your own Human Experience and also a more universal Human Experience? (write a paragraph of 5-7 sentences)
E. Reply substantively to at least two other people in the discussion.
Your main discussion post might look something like this:
