Some internal scans by companies set out to prove a specific hypothesis of value to the company. For example, a cigarette company might commission internal scanning that attempts to show that learning the administrative processes is not detrimental to the company. Many companies have ethical misgivings about doing the scanning. Have you ever noticed any scanning of this nature? What are your feelings about companies that engage in this type of internal scanning?
