Discussion: Ethics in your Industry
Given the well-documented scandals in corporate America involving unethical behavior, many companies are increasingly encouraging their employees to act ethically. Find one company in your field or industry, research that company's approaches to ethics and obtain a copy of it's code of ethical conduct by visiting the company Web site. Save a copy of the Code of Ethics for your company and upload it as a PDF along with your assignment (iLearn will allow you to upload 2 files for this assignment). Label it using the company name for example if I found McDonalds code of ethics I would save it as "McDonalds Code of Ethics.pdf". Then answer the following questions.
1. Find two items in the code of ethical conduct that you found interesting or note worthy. Describe the items and discuss why you believe they were included in the code. Explain why you thought it was interesting or note worthy.
2. Find one item in the code of ethical conduct that you think would be difficult to enforce or regulate for the company. Describe it and discuss why you think it was included.
3. What are two specific ways the company can make sure employees comply with the code of ethical conduct? Explain why those ways would be effective.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
