What are the five texts that make up your required reading

Assignment 1: Quick Check-In

Answer the following questions. Your responses should be in double-spaced, 12pt, Times New Roman.

Please proofread your writing before submitting it.

1. What are the five texts that make up your required reading list (the ones you will be writing about in your argument essay)? Give me a quick, one-sentence reason why you picked each one. (If you want to make a bullet-pointed or numbered list that would be great). Need Assignment Help?

2. How are you feeling about the upcoming essay? Do you have any questions or concerns? Anything you need reassurance about? (Two or three sentences is a good response)

3. Look at the assignments you have due in other classes, your work schedule, and other obligations you have in the next two and a half (ish) weeks. How much of a struggle is it going to be for you to finish everything? (Two or three sentences is a good response)

Assignment 2: What's Important to You?

If you've read through this week's synopsis and the discussion assignment, you already know that we're starting our second unit, which will focus on creating your own list of required reading.

To begin to prepare us for that assignment, I'd like you to write a short essay about what draws you to the media you enjoy. Think about what's important to you when you are consuming media. Consider literary ideas like genre, plot, theme, characters, etc, but I'd also like you to think about the important things that are specific to you.

How does who you are shape what kind of media you enjoy?

You can cite specific examples of books, movies, video games, etc, or you can talk about media in a more general sense. Just make sure that your writing is organized and in double-spaced, 12pt Times New Roman.
