Mr. Powers is a rather healthy 73-year old male who has been diagnosed with a prostate tumor/mass. Biopsy confirms that Mr. P has prostate cancer. He has also complained of some right hip discomfort and lower back pain, which he correlated with being active and his age. His PSA is at 232. Initial x-rays of his hip and lumbar spine reveal small osteoblastic lesions. The client has been referred to an oncologist who suggests radiation seed implantation to reduce the size of the tumor prior to surgery and to radiate the hip/spine lesions.
Mr. P has been admitted and has been prepped for his radiation seed implantation.
