Hosting the Olympics is a major endeavor for any destination, especially major cities.
Not only does the Olympic Committee have to assess a destination, various government entities also need to decide whether or not they can afford the infrastructure for the games; if they have the space; where the athletes will be housed; what will happen after the Olympics; and many other considerations.
The following article from NPR outlines some of the economic costs and benefits associated with the 2012 London Olympics.
Read the article and listen to the brief episode and answer the following questions:

4. If you were on the chamber of a major city, would you put in a bid to host the Olympic games? Why or why not?
