Problem: Using the knowledge acquired from this module, do up a Crime Prevention Plan that may be used by the authorities to reduce the crime rate in Bedok West. Students must address the following: 1) The key concepts of the Opportunity Theories of Crime; 2) Policing and crime prevention, problem oriented policing (POP), 25 techniques for situational crime prevention, crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED); and 3) Explain how the authorities could use these theories, methods and approaches to reduce crime in the Bedok West area.
