Problem: One would expect Heracles's children, the Heraclidae, to have an easier and more fulfilling life than Heracles, especially because of who they are and their father's contribution to Greece, and also because their chief enemy, Eurystheus, is vanquished. But, unfortunately, they have an equally bad time, although not as physically demanding as that of Heracles. Heracles overcomes his challenges, but the Heraclidae do not seem to overcome the obstacles put in their path. In the end the Heraclidae are a quarrelsome, conniving and fragmented lot. How does one account for or make sense of this turn of events in the lives of Heracles's children? Use excerpts from the text to substantiate your views.
