Torque needed to generate the acceleration

A dad pushes tangentially on the small hand-driven merry-go-round and is capable to accelerate it from rest to a frequency of around 18 rpm in 10.5s. Suppose that the merry-go-round is a uniform disk having radius 2.5 m and consist of a mass of around 760 kg, and two children (each having a mass of around 23 kg) sit opposite to one other on the edge.

Compute the torque needed to generate the acceleration, avoiding frictional torque.

Determine what force is needed at the edge?
