THOMSON'S ATOMIC MODEL:-
According to Thomson's atomic model positive charge is distributed uniformly over the entire body of the atom while the electrons are embedded in it. Similar to the seeds in a water melon.
Thomson's model failed to explain observed spectra emitted by an atom .
