There exists one more intersection at downstream location

A traffic signal is set for a 1-minute cycle. The red and green phases on approach %u201CA%u201D are as follows: R=30sec (including amber phases) and G=30 sec.

1) If the flow to approach A is constant (no random fluctuations) at 20 veh/min and the saturation flow rate is 1veh/sec. Calculate the average delay for a typical car.

2) There exists one more intersection at downstream location, which is away 300m from the first intersection. If this intersection has traffic signal with same cycle time, draw queueing diagram for the second intersection, and find optimal traffic signal timing strategy to reduce delay. How much delay can be reduced by your strategy?
