Assignment : Trend Feature
The trend feature is different from the news feature in that while it is based on news, the focus of it is not hard news.
The trend feature takes its cue from what is going on around us in our culture. It can be anything from the latest fashion, entertainment, or gadgets.
Therefore, these stories tend to be "lighter" than hard news story while still offering audiences valuable information.
For this assignment, you will consider a current trend and write a feature story on it for a magazine of your choice.
You will choose a real world magazine in which your story will appear and write the story as if you were a writer for the magazine.
Write a 500-word news feature that meets the following criteria:
1. Formulate an anecdotal lead that engages the audience.
2. Examine various perspectives gathered from the CQ Researcher database utilizing quotes and attributions.
3. Organize the story by creating logical connections and using transitions throughout the story.
4. Use a graphic image that aligns with the story.
The piece must be written in Associated Press (AP) style.
