Historical Development of Nursing Science
The development of nursing as a profession had demonstrated that it is both an art and science. Previous to the 19th century, the armed forces and spiritual orders are the people who carry out the tasks of how nurses operate today. Several occurrences throughout history such as wars and outbreaks had formed nursing to its current association. Currently, nursing is approaching more towards the future in developing itself as an occupation for improved care and service to the public. The purpose for this essay is to describe the timeline of the historical development of nursing science; the relationship between nursing science and the profession, and the influences nursing science has on different disciplines.
