I do believe that teachers have a responsibility to advocate for their own needs, as well as the needs of their students.

The people making these policy decisions often little or no experience in the classroom, or even education at all.

Oftentimes, it is the teachers in the classroom who best know what students need to succeed, as they are in the trenches on a daily basis, so to speak.
