Hey! I'm Amanda. I'm a 21-year-old full-time student from Corbin, KY, and I've been taking online courses through UC for around 3 years now. I'm currently a junior and have been working towards getting a bachelor's in psychology, which has been a challenging yet positive experience so far. My ultimate goal, aside from getting that degree, is to use that knowledge in psychology to find a career path where I can help others. At first, I thought of becoming a school psychologist, which still sounds great and all, but I'm learning to expand my options a bit and see what else might suit what I want to do. I fairly recently decided to pursue a minor in social work, and I've been learning a whole lot about the field over the past few months. Before this, I admit I knew next to nothing about social work, so my understanding has changed pretty drastically. I'm very interested in taking this course because I find human behavior incredibly interesting, and I like to investigate how and why people respond or act the way they do under certain conditions (that is, how I personally would define human behavior). I feel like this understanding is crucial for learning to better communicate and work with others in any part of life. When I'm not doing coursework, I'm mostly reading, gaming, and doing artwork. I'm very passionate about illustration, especially in darker horror genres. I love cats, as you can see from my profile picture (and yes, that's my cat), and I also enjoy cooking, crafting, traveling, collecting, and going shopping. Great to meet you guys!
