There is a lot of value, I believe, in your explanation of your takeaway regarding the factors of the Second Wave of Feminism. Women of color and other minority groups have been treated consistently unequally and inequitably throughout history. I believe the social markers see White men, Black men, White women, and then the rest of us. However, advocating to improve the conditions for all people has been met with so much opposition that it seems to be an insurmountable task. Not true, because I believe that "where there is a will, there is a way". I enjoyed reading your discussion post because of your clarity in presenting your views on the Second Wave, and I am in total agreement. Because I am a senior citizen, I took a look at the First Wave of Feminism, and I know that I would have been an abolitionist, but I also know that during that era, my concentration would have only considered and fought for the rights of Black people. Now I am focused on the rights of all marginalized populations. As they say, "what a difference a day makes". I was disheartened by the Roe vs Wade decision designed to attack women's reproductive rights. Women, in general, have always had to fight to be able to make decisions for ourselves and receive equal compensation for equal job descriptions. We will not even begin to speak on the work we do, cooking, cleaning, and childcare. It will be interesting to see what future waves of feminism will reveal. Need Assignment Help?
