Summarize the issues regarding offenders who are mentally ill who are housed in jails and prisons across the United States. What problems do developmentally challenged/mentally ill offenders pose for correctional administrators? You have been asked by the director of corrections in your state to develop some new policies for better handling of the growing number of mentally ill inmates housed in the state jails and prisons.
