Struggles and various notions of “liberty”:
Different groups and peoples have sought full rights, full participation, and equal rights from the 1860s through the 1910s. Describe how such struggles have helped to shape US history between Reconstruction and the First World War. Be sure to include at least four specific instances of struggle from across our time period.
Essays must be typewritten, and must be 3-4 pages, double-spaced, set in Times New Roman 12-point font, with one-inch margins. Footnotes or endnotes are not expected – in an essay of such a short length, quotations should not be used.
