Iin the aftermath of the American Civil War there were a host of problems with no simple solutions. With President Lincoln assassinated, the course of post-war America had changed. Looking back at reconstruction, being the “Monday morning quarterback” with the advantage of hindsight; what do you think the government could have done to better ensure the healing of a wounded nation?
