We would like you to deconstruct a student proposal from last semester. In doing so, we hope that you will become familiarized with the content that constitutes a proposal and how the content can be successfully structured.
To understand the structure of a research proposal, we would like you to create an outline of a successful proposal. In addition to considering the message of each paragraph, consider the function of the paragraph in context of the overall proposal. For each paragraph, provide no more than a one-sentence summary of the message and a brief statement on the function of the paragraph.
For instance, one might outline the first paragraph as follows:
There is a need for a treatment for anxiety disorders that is similar in efficacy to existing treatments while also decreasing the social stigma associated with the disorder and treatment of the disorder.
Function: Presents what might be considered the "management dilemma"
