Proposed structure of the analysis and strategy
1. Introduction to the operation of the organization (location, main tasks, organizational setup) If the organization has an organizational chart, put it in.
2. Does the organization have an assistant, manager or department dealing with communication and/or stakeholder involvement? What do we know about the position or the department?
3. Main stakeholders of the organization: who are the main stakeholders and what are the relationships? Draw stakeholder map indicating the different types of relationships between stakeholders (co-operations, conflicts, neutral relationships)
4. The assessment of the current communication and stakeholder involvement strategy
- Does the organization have a written communication or stakeholder strategy?
- Who are the main target groups? Do they reach all important stakeholders?
- Do they work with wildlife related conflicts? What kind of conflicts are they engaged in and which stakeholder groups are involved in the conflicts?
- What kind of information do they provide to their stakeholders/target groups? Is it sufficient, understandable and reliable?
- What information channels (e.g. internet. facebook, instagram) do they use? Are they suitable to the needs of the stakeholders? Are they one way or two way channels? How successful are they in your opinion?
- What means do they use to involve stakeholders in wildlife and nature conservation (e.g. questionnaires, workshops, forums, stakeholder boards, joint projects, citizen science, community conservation areas)? How successful are they in your opinion?
- How successful is the organization in resolving conflicts? Why?
- What are the main strengths and the main weaknesses of the strategy?
