At the top level of the organizational chart is the restaurant owner who has the overall responsibility for the restaurant. The owner establishes the restaurant structure and selects the people for upper management positions. He also sets goals for the company and establishes company polices. Below the owner is the multi-unit manager who has similar responsibilities as the owner. He coordinates and supports all activities within the restaurant, plan and set goals in coordination with the owner. He reports directly to the restaurant owner. Next are the restaurant manager, assistant manager and three shift managers who are all responsible for the overall operation of the store including product ordering, staff scheduling, weekly inventory, training, employee orientation, etc. They report to the multi-unit manager and the restaurant owner. At the bottom of the chart are the sandwich artists and senior sandwich artists. They prepare and serve the food to the customers while maintaining food and safety and sanitation standards. The senior sandwich artists perform the same task as the sandwich artists in addition to training new sandwich artists and taking on other delegated task from the managers. They report to the restaurant manager, shift manager, assistant manager, and the multi-unit manager.
