Should government allocate funds to address natural disaster

Discussion Post

The responsibilities of the DHS span over all aspects of securing the homeland while supporting and coordinating with stakeholders in the local and state government as well as the private sector. Within such a role, the Department plays a lead role in all elements of risk analysis. As such, mitigating threats to homeland security include domestic and international terrorism, natural disasters and, most recently, pandemics. Many feel risk analysis efforts are weighted heavily toward terrorism. Do you feel, considering the current threat landscape, this is an effective approach? Should the government allocate more funds to address natural disasters and public health pandemics instead?

The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
