Review the video toys and materials for play therapy

Assignment 1

Play Therapy Tote Bag/Power Point Presentation

1. Collect toys and materials for portable play therapy in a tote bag. Your textbook describes selecting a sturdy bag for such purposes as well as some guidelines for toys/materials selection. Dr. Landreth's video presentation about "Toys/Materials in Play Therapy" should also be your guide!

HERE'S THE VIDEO LINK

2. Using Power Point, submit photos of the play items you've collected and how they might be used by a child of the age of your choosing (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8). For example, you might take a few photos of your collected creative/art materials and include a brief explanation of why these are good choices for use in play therapy as well as how a child might use them therapeutically. A photo of each toy/item is not necessary and would be too lengthy however, you are required to group your toys/materials into categories and take a few pictures of what composes each category of toys/materials you have assembled. (For example, group the aggressive play items and take a picture of them and label it as the aggressive toys/materials.)

3. Using Power Point, take a picture of the tote bag you've chosen and include it in your power point presentation. A total of 10 slides, not including your title slide and your references slide, is required.

4. Post your power point presentation of your Tote Bag for Portable Play Therapy under the discussion of the same title on the Discussion page! YOU MUST ALSO POST IT ON THE ASSIGNMENT PAGE (if you fail to do this, your Tote Bag assignment will not be graded!). Feel free to comment, ask questions and provide feedback to your classmates about their power point presentations!
