Problem: Based off of the first hundred fifty pages of the book: Sugar and Civilization by April Merleaux ( may also use outside sources) :
1. Authors of plants and people (civilization) books have to decide how much plant biology and how much people, history, and civilization to include in their books. How would you describe the ratio of plant biology to civilization in your book? Is this how you envision your science vs history balance in your lesson?
2. Given that we have spent much time considering the plant biology aspect, use the rest of this essay to consider how you might share important historical events or impacts on civilization by your plant. Share at least two historical events involving your plant (the sugar cane) . You are not limited to events discussed in your plant book and may write other historical events that also involve the sugar cane Your essay should have minimum of 4 different references in total supporting your narrative (your plant book- Sugar and Civilization by April Merleaux can be one reference and then you need to find three other sources).
