Assignment:
This week we are focusing on the effect of gangs on juvenile delinquency. For this assignment, you have two issues to research and discuss:
1) Conduct research on gang activity in the Colorado Springs area. What gangs are represented here? What percentage of juveniles are involved in gangs? What ethnic and cultural affiliations are there to gangs in the Colorado Springs area?
2) After conducting your research, form an analysis as to which social/psychological theory best explain gang membership, organization, recruitment and activity in the Colorado Springs area. Make sure to take into account the unique cultural, economic and ethnic make-up of youth in the Colorado Springs area.
