Assignment Problem: Reflection on Interview with Principal in Minor Area
As part of the certification requirement, a reflection paper must be completed with a building principal in your minor area. If you wish to be a secondary administrator, the elementary area is your minor and vice versa. Interview a building principal in your minor area regarding the practices they use specific for the personnel in their grade levels. What do they look for in teachers at the grade span? Is that different than other grade spans? In what ways is their recruitment specific to their grade levels? How to they provide feedback to their staff members? Is that different than other grade levels? Feel free to develop your own questions based on what you truly wish to know about being an administrator in that area.
The paper should be a minimum of 3 paragraphs with an introductory paragraph, a second paragraph with specific examples of differences in human resources practices in the minor area as compared to your major area, and a concluding paragraph.
