Use an event that is not common rather one that could occur, but is not necessarily normal. For example, a few years ago an earthquake struck the Washington DC region that originated in Mineral Springs, VA. This event is not normal for that region, but it can occur. Then write a paper on how that event could impact your area. Include things as what should be done to prepare for the event, during the event and after the event. Focus on managing patients for the duration and how a mass casualty incident would be handled as a result of the incident. Include references cited in APA. Also, reference similar events that have previously occurred in other areas to base your speculation of what could occur in your area. Using the example of the earthquake, DC region do not have structures built to withstand earthquakes of any significance. The paper should be in APA format. 3-5 pages excluding the title page, abstract page and reference page.
