Quantitative behavior of inlet concentration versus time


The mixing process might be explained as follows: a stream with solute concentration Ci (pounds/volume) is fed to the perfectly stirred tank at a constant flow rate of q (volume/time). The perfectly mixed product is withdrawn from the tank, as well at the flow rate q at the similar concentration as the material in the tank, C. The total volume of solution in tank is constant at V. Density might be considered to be independent of the concentration.
