quantitative analysisthe quantitative analysis

Quantitative analysis:

The quantitative analysis could be carried out using standard calibration curve, through standard addition or internal addition method. The method is subject to several interferences such as spectral, ionisation, or chemical interferences.

The main applications of flame photometry involves qualitative and quantitative analysis especially of Group I metals (Li, Na, K) and Group II metals (Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba). It is extremely useful in routine determination of these metals within medicinal, biological, industrial fields and agricultural. Merits of the method involve high sensitivity and reliability, inexpensive instrumentation and advantages within analysis of alkali and alkaline earth metals. Instead, the method is chiefly restricted to these elements, liquid samples, and is subject to different kinds of interferences, and provides no information on chemical form of the element present.
