Q. The area of the hysteresis loop of a given magnetic material is 50cm2 with the two axes scaled as 1cm = 20AT and 1cm = 50mWb, for 50Hz frequency find the total hysteresis loss 

Ans.

            Given     f = 50 Hz

 

                          x = 20, (1cm = 20AT)

 

                          y = 50m wb = 0.05wb

 

      So hysteresis loss = xy × Area of (B-H) loop joules/m3/cycle

 

                            = 20 × 0.05 × 50

 

                           =  joules/m3/cycle

 

     Total hysteresis loss = 50 × 50

 

                          = 2500 watt
