Homework: Stock Journal

Part 1

Instructions

For this portion of the homework, complete the following:

Record the current price of the stock for Pfizer Inc, China Mobile and Chevron Corporation,

o You may use any price during this Part (e.g., day one price, the opening, the low, the high, the close, or any price you find when you check it during the day).

o Use the MS Excel spreadsheet or MS Word document to put your Part 1 stock prices side-by-side, to show your comparison.

I. Determine the current value of your total investment.

• Do not make any changes to your investment at this time.
• Calculate your total based on the number of shares and the new price per share, for each company.

II. Evaluate the results of your current investment to provide your opinion/assessment of your investments.

• Consider the following questions as you provide your opinion:

i. Why do you believe the stock increased, decreased, or remained static?
ii. Are you upset because your investment is worth less than $25,000?
iii. Are you happy with the result and the trend?

Part 2

You have been waiting for-to see if you are walking home a pretend millionaire, or whether you would be finding a side job to recoup your losses!

This is the last of the three stock journal homeworks that you will complete during this course. For this homework, you will add your work for Part 10 to your previous work from Parts 3 and 8, following the instructions below. Two templates have been provided for your use. One template is where you will enter your chosen companies, the share prices, and the number of shares you will be purchasing given your budget of $25K. The other template is where you will write your rationale/summary. Download both templates, then complete, save, and upload both templates to Blackboard when submitting your work.

Instructions

Review your investment for the last time and complete the following:

I. Record the current price of the stock for each company you selected in Stock Journal.

• You may use any price during this Part (e.g., day one price, the opening, the low, the high, the close, or any price you find when you check it during the day). Use the MS Excel spreadsheet or MS Word document to put your stock prices side-by-side, to show the comparison.

II. Determine the total value of your investment.

III. Provide your final opinion/assessment of your investments.

• Consider the following questions as you provide your assessment:

i. Did you make money or lose money?
ii. What were your results?
iii. Based on hindsight, what you would do differently?

IV. Discuss what you learned from this homework and how this homework could help you in the future.

Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:

i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.

ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.

iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
