Approaching from a portfolio mindset the assessment would cover projects, programs, and subsidiary portfolios to align with the required objectives form the organization (Project Management Institute, 2017). Factoring in the risk to reward for the projects will help define if these projects are necessary to meet the objectives and identify if the risk outweighs the reward. There will be some projects that may not be required and will be cut. This requires communication with the stakeholders to ensure this is an agreed upon project that can be cut while still meeting organization objectives.
