Provide a substantive contribution that advances the discussion in a meaningful way by identifying strengths of the posting, challenging assumptions, and asking clarifying questions.
A null hypothesis "is an algebraic statement that some population parameter has a specific value" (Warner, 2013). In research a null hypothesis is used for looking at the correlation between variables and invalidate the statistical analysis or cross check the results. Null hypothesis is expressed as H0. An alternative hypothesis also known, as "research hypothesis" is the one that represents a different outcome than the one describe in the null hypothesis (Warner, 2013). Alternative hypothesis is express as Ha. An example could be trying to find out if 7th graders study for 3 hours a day. The null hypothesis would be that 7th graders study for 3 hours a day. The alternative hypothesis would be 7th graders do not study for 3 hours a day.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
