The following questions are meant to help prepare you for the midterm exam. To complete your plan sheet, copy and paste the questions below into a word processing document and submit that document for review using the link above. Take the time to format your document into correct memo format. This will ensure you have all the format requirements for your midterm exam document.
Questions to Address:
- Provide a basic description of the company or organization you plan to use for this assignment (either factual or fictional).
- List as many potential "artifacts" that you can think of related to your current or future job fields.
- Pick one of these artifacts and write a quick paragraph description.
- Specific to the audience described in question number one, provide a general description of the process that would use this artifact.
- What are the main steps of the process that uses this artifact?
- What would your defined audience need to know in order to understand your explanation?
- Why is this process important to this audience?
- What are your sources of information (print and/or oral or personal experience)?
- Are there any visuals that you could use to better illustrate your points?
While you are not required specifically to use a visual for this assignment, I would encourage you to include visuals on your planning sheet that might help you explain your "artifact." This can be a table or chart you have found while reading, a simple flow chart to help your audience follow your discussion of a process, or a simple picture of the object. While Blackboard will not let you actually upload this image as part of your exam, you can indicate where it should be placed within your discussion by including a reference to the image in the text of your document and including a figure caption and short title.
